Launched in 1996, the annual Polytechnic Forum provides a platform for students from all five polytechnics (Nanyang, Ngee Ann, Republic, Singapore and Temasek) to gain a deeper appreciation of national issues through research, learning journeys, group work as well as discussions with and by leaders from both the public and private sectors.
Polytechnic Forum 2018 was held from 13th to 20th September with the theme, “Caring for Our Future”. The primary goal of the Polytechnic Forum is to put the onus on our youth to consider how issues of the day are all inter-connected and dynamic, while the theme challenges our centennials to demonstrate care to the diverse communities and our nation, today and for the future.
Students from all five polytechnics were given the opportunity to discuss national issues based on the following sub themes:
– Skills and Jobs
– Social Inclusion
– Sustainable Development
– Security and Stability
