ADJUNCT TRAINING INFORMATION
If you are here to find out more about what you need to do as an Adjunct, then read on.
Please take note that we have transitioned to a joint Polytechnic programme. This means that the polys have come together to offer a common training programme and certificate once you finish the training.
Essentially, you will need to complete a 16-hour programme scheduled for 2 parts.
Part 1 – Online Packages to build Foundation T&L Knowledge (13 hours)
There are 3 online packages that you need to complete to build foundation knowledge. These packages cover topics from lesson planning to facilitating your classroom. These packages are offered asynchronously which means you can go through them at your own pace.
You are advised to begin learning immediately and try and complete this BEFORE you start teaching and BEFORE you come for Part 2 below.
You will need to access the content via the Brightspace LMS and YOU MUST complete the 3 quizzes for the 3 packages.
You will need to access the LMS by using your ichat email address and password. Please note that you will need to ENROLL for the packages by clicking the link HERE to provide the information. You MUST do this or you will not be able to access the packages. Once you submit, wait 3 days before attempting to access the packages by clicking the link below
To access the training packages –
Part 2 – Micro-Teaching (Face-to-Face)
To complete your training, you will need to attend a micro-teaching session. Essentially, this micro-teaching session is where we will see you APPLY the T&L concepts which you have learnt in Part 1. Please take note that for the micro-teaching session, you should only plan for 1 concept as you will ONLY be teaching for 10 minutes maximum. To help you plan and execute the micro-teaching, please consider using the template attached below. Click HERE to book your micro-teaching session slot.
In Summary
Please look closely at Part 1 and Part 2 above and you need to FINISH both parts BEFORE the end of the term and to complete all elements BEFORE you are issued the certificate. This is crucial, as non-completion of the quizzes and the micro-teaching means you have not completed the training and may affect future appointments in SP.
Should you have any questions, please contact Huazhi at chan_huazhi@sp.edu.sg.
